A 32-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of a four-year-old child following the discovery of the child's body in a Wyong home on the New South Wales Central Coast. The woman, whose identity is not disclosed, presented herself at Wyong Police Station on Saturday afternoon, prompting a welfare check at her residence on Byron Street. Upon arrival, officers found the child's body inside the unit. Superintendent Chad Gillies from the Tuggerah Lakes District described the scene as "extremely confronting," confirming that the child had sustained injuries. He refrained from speculating on the nature of these injuries. The woman and the child were known to each other and lived together at the Wyong property. The accused did not appear in court for a bail hearing and was represented by NSW Legal Aid, which requested that a medical warrant be endorsed. The matter is scheduled to return to court at Wyong on September 1. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the woman and child to contact Crime Stoppers.
