As rooftop solar penetration reaches record levels, the electricity grid faces new technical challenges. Traditional power networks were designed for one-way flows from large, centralized power plants to consumers. Today, the massive influx of solar energy during peak daylight hours creates a two-way flow, where excess power is exported back into the grid. This can lead to voltage fluctuations and grid instability, requiring operators to modernize infrastructure to handle these shifts.
