Lightspeed Commerce Inc. has reported a narrower net loss and exceeded revenue expectations for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027. The company, which provides an omnichannel platform for retail and hospitality businesses, announced total revenue of $310.65 million for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, surpassing analyst expectations of $287.28 million. This marks a 14.6% increase from the same period last year.

The net loss for the quarter was $35 million, or $0.24 per share, an improvement from the $26.6 million loss, or $0.17 per share, reported in the same quarter of the previous year. Adjusted for certain items, the company reported an adjusted income of $20.2 million, or $0.15 per share, up from $18.5 million, or $0.12 per share, in the prior year.

Gross profit margins improved to 43%, with gross profit increasing 15% year-over-year. The company also reported positive cash flow from operating activities of $28.9 million and adjusted free cash flow of $14.9 million.

Looking ahead, Lightspeed has raised its fiscal 2026 outlook, expecting revenue of approximately $1.216 billion to $1.22 billion, gross profit of approximately $523 million to $525 million, and adjusted EBITDA of approximately $72 million.

Investors will be closely watching Lightspeed's ability to maintain this positive momentum in the coming quarters, particularly in light of the ongoing challenges in the retail and hospitality sectors.
