To combat the fire, the regional government has elevated its Special Civil Protection Plan for Forest Fires to Operational Situation 2, Level 2. This escalation allows for the mobilization of additional resources, including the request for assistance from the Military Emergency Unit (UME), which is part of the Ministry of Defense. The fire has also necessitated the closure of the A-1204 road between Farasdués and Asín to ensure public safety and allow emergency vehicles to operate without obstruction.
The firefighting effort is extensive, involving a mix of regional and national assets. Ground crews from the Infoar service, the Provincial Council of Zaragoza, and the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge are working alongside aerial support, including amphibious aircraft and helicopters. These teams are currently focused on containing the fire's perimeter to prevent further spread toward populated areas.
This incident occurs during a period of high temperatures and extreme fire risk across much of Spain, particularly in the eastern regions.
