The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially declared the results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026. Following a re-examination held on June 21, 2026, a total of 11.21 lakh candidates have qualified for admission into undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH, and allied health programs across India. The results were released on the official NTA website, allowing students to access their scorecards and final answer keys to proceed with the upcoming medical counselling and admission process.
Nearly 20 lakh candidates appeared for the re-test, which was conducted at 5,440 examination centers across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The examination was held in 13 languages to ensure accessibility for students from diverse linguistic backgrounds. The NTA confirmed that the results were announced on schedule to keep the national medical admission timeline on track.
Performance data shows that women outshined men, accounting for more than 58% of all qualified candidates. Specifically, 56.8% of female candidates who appeared for the exam qualified, compared to 55.1% of male candidates. Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana emerged as the joint toppers, both securing an impressive 715 out of 720 marks.
Academic excellence was widespread, with 138 candidates scoring above 690 marks and 19 candidates achieving scores of 700 or higher. The data also indicates that 1,492 candidates scored 650 or above, while over 10,000 students crossed the 600-mark threshold. The NTA noted that approximately 93% of the top 138 rankers were first-time test-takers, and nearly all were between 17 and 19 years of age.
To ensure transparency, the scanned copies of original OMR answer sheets and scorecards have been secured in DigiLocker, maintained by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Candidates who appeared for the initial May 3 examination, which was later cancelled, are also currently processing fee refunds through a dedicated facility provided by the NTA.
