The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has responded firmly to the recent allegations of donation misappropriation at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. VHP international president Alok Kumar has maintained that the organization had no knowledge of the theft and stated that the construction and management of the temple fall exclusively under the temple trust. He emphasized that the VHP did not appoint Champat Rai, the resigned general secretary, thus distancing the group from the controversy.
Kumar has demanded a swift and thorough investigation, calling for FIR registration and strict punishment for those found culpable. Furthermore, he has requested authorities to question opposition leaders who have made public accusations, including prominent representatives from the Samajwadi Party, Aam Aadmi Party, and Congress, urging them to substantiate their claims.
The VHP’s position highlights their intent to preserve their image and assert that they are not responsible for the alleged financial mismanagement, positioning the temple trust as the sole body accountable for the handling of donations. As the investigation unfolds, the VHP is seeking to clarify the situation and ensure that justice is served without politicization.
