In a shocking incident in Bengaluru South district, a Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) officer, B N Girish, was allegedly drugged, stripped, and filmed by Anush Shivappa, a 34-year-old gym trainer from Mysuru. Shivappa, who had befriended Girish on Facebook, reportedly offered to create promotional videos for Girish's public service work. On June 29, 2026, Shivappa, along with two associates, Shobharaj and Naveen, visited Girish's residence under the pretense of shooting a video. They allegedly provided Girish with a glass of orange juice, which made him drowsy. Upon regaining consciousness, Girish found himself in a compromising position, with the incident captured on video. The accused then demanded Rs 10 lakh from Girish, threatening to release the footage if the money was not paid within 24 hours. Additionally, they stole personal items, including an 8-gram gold ring and a 14-gram gold chain, valued at approximately Rs 50,000 and Rs 1,20,000, respectively. The police have arrested Shivappa and are searching for the other two accused. Investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of their acquaintance and to recover the video footage. Shivappa has a history of anti-social activities and has been booked for similar offenses in the past.
