A 39-year-old Malaysian pilot has been detained in Jakarta after Indonesian authorities discovered over 25 kilograms of ecstasy and methamphetamine in his luggage. The pilot, identified by authorities as MSBO, was intercepted at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on July 28 following a flight from Kuala Lumpur. Customs officers flagged his suitcase during a routine X-ray scan, which revealed 14 packages containing more than 70,000 ecstasy pills and a small amount of crystal methamphetamine. The arrest has prompted an immediate investigation into potential links to an international drug syndicate.
Preliminary findings from Indonesian police indicate that the pilot tested positive for cocaine, ecstasy, and methamphetamine. Authorities stated that the suspect admitted to acting as a drug mule, allegedly promised 50,000 Malaysian ringgit to transport the contraband.
