Following the recent state election in Negeri Sembilan, the state is moving toward a new administrative chapter. In his first official address after the swearing-in ceremony at Istana Besar Seri Menanti, Datuk Ismail Lasim pledged to uphold the royal institution and ensure that the state government remains people-centric. He emphasized that the mandate given by voters is a responsibility he accepts with humility, promising to lead with integrity and transparency. The new Menteri Besar is currently coordinating with Barisan Nasional leadership, including president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, to finalize the state executive council lineup, with appointments expected to be completed by Friday.
Barisan Nasional secretary-general Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir noted that the coalition’s victory is a mandate to serve all communities in the state, regardless of background. He highlighted the importance of stability and progress, stating that the new government is committed to moderate politics and racial harmony. The administration now faces the task of balancing the expectations of its diverse electorate with the practical demands of governing, as it seeks to deliver on its promises of development and inclusive prosperity for the people of Negeri Sembilan.
