Perodua has officially reduced the prices of its Axia model range across Malaysia, with some variants seeing a price cut of up to RM4,700. The new pricing, which took effect immediately on August 3, 2026, applies to all four variants of the second-generation Axia. In Peninsular Malaysia, the entry-level 1.0G variant now starts at RM33,900, down from its previous price of RM38,600. Other models in the lineup also received reductions, ranging from RM500 to RM1,500 depending on the specific trim level.
The national automaker stated that these price adjustments are a direct result of sustained improvements in operational efficiency and process optimization. By collaborating closely with local suppliers and partners within the automotive ecosystem, Perodua has managed to lower production costs. The company emphasized that these savings are being passed directly to consumers to help ease the financial pressures currently faced by many Malaysians.
Despite the significant price drop, Perodua has assured customers that there are no changes to the vehicle's specifications, equipment levels, or quality standards. The second-generation Axia, which was first launched in February 2023, continues to feature the same 1.0-litre engine and D-CVT transmission combination. This move is part of a broader company initiative that has also seen reductions in vehicle service costs and revised pricing for its electric vehicle offerings and battery subscription services.
Industry observers note that this strategic pricing adjustment helps maintain the Axia's competitiveness in the entry-level segment, particularly against rival models. As the most affordable passenger car in the country, the Axia remains a critical product for Perodua's market presence.
