A Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblyman has officially dismissed rumors suggesting that Pakatan Harapan (PH) might be invited to join the newly formed Negeri Sembilan state government. Asna Amin, the assemblyman for Lenggeng, stated clearly that there have been no discussions regarding such a partnership. This clarification comes amid public speculation that PH could be included in the state administration to foster greater political stability and inclusivity following the recent state election.
The Negeri Sembilan state election resulted in a significant shift in power, with the BN and Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition securing a two-thirds majority. Together, they won 25 out of the 36 state assembly seats, allowing them to form the new government. Following this victory, Juasseh assemblyman Datuk Ismail Lasim was sworn in as the ninth Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan, marking a transition from the previous PH-led administration.
Asna also addressed and rejected claims made by former Menteri Besar Rais Yatim regarding alleged external interference in the state's constitutional processes. Rais had previously questioned the nature of meetings between BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and the state ruler, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, prior to the appointment of the new Menteri Besar. Asna maintained that these meetings were entirely professional and did not involve any improper influence over the selection of the state leadership.
