Steven John Lam Kuet Keng, a 56-year-old lawyer and director of Templars Law, was disbarred after being convicted of multiple offenses related to a drink-driving incident on April 7, 2024. Lam had a prior conviction for drink-driving in 2006. On the night of the incident, he was driving along Bukit Panjang Road when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to collide with guard railings. Subsequent breathalyzer tests revealed that Lam had a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. Following the accident, Lam lied to police officers, claiming that an unknown person was driving the car at the time of the incident. He was charged with drink-driving, careless driving, and two counts of providing false information to public servants. In November 2025, Lam pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to eight weeks in jail, fined S$18,000, and disqualified from holding or obtaining any driving license for six years. The Law Society of Singapore subsequently struck him off the rolls, citing his dishonesty and breach of professional conduct.
