Steven John Lam Kuet Keng, a 56-year-old lawyer and director of Templars Law, was disbarred after being convicted of multiple offenses related to a drink-driving incident on April 7, 2024. Lam, who had a prior conviction for drink-driving in 2006, was found to have consumed alcohol before driving along Bukit Panjang Road. He lost control of his vehicle, causing it to collide with guard railings. Subsequently, Lam provided false information to police officers, claiming that an unknown person was driving the car at the time of the accident. He was charged with drink-driving, careless driving, and two counts of giving false information to a public servant. In November 2025, Lam pleaded guilty to these charges and was sentenced to eight weeks in jail, fined S$18,000, and disqualified from holding or obtaining all classes of driving licenses for six years. The Law Society of Singapore subsequently initiated disciplinary proceedings, leading to his removal from the roll of practicing lawyers.
