In June 2026, Singapore's law enforcement agencies conducted extensive multi-agency operations across the island, resulting in over 1,700 individuals being investigated for various offences. The operations, held between June 1 and June 28, involved more than 5,600 officers from the Singapore Police Force (SPF), the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the Traffic Police, and other agencies including the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Land Transport Authority (LTA), and Health Sciences Authority (HSA).
The offences investigated included the use of non-compliant active mobility devices (AMDs) and failure to register personal mobility devices. Additionally, three teenagers between the ages of 16 and 19 were arrested on suspicion of being members of unlawful societies.
Enforcement operations also targeted massage establishments and vice activities. On June 6, two outlets in Jalan Mas Puteh were found providing massage services without valid licenses, and vice activities were detected; eight women aged between 29 and 48 were arrested. From June 10 to June 13, officers from the Tanglin Police Division, supported by the CID and HSA, conducted operations targeting massage establishments, hotels, commercial units, and public entertainment venues near Balestier Road, Selegie Road, River Valley Road, Clarke Quay, and Sinaran Drive. A total of 41 women and four men aged between 24 and 47, along with three massage establishments and three public entertainment outlets, are under investigation. Seven vaporisers were also seized during these operations.
Police have stated that investigations into the 1,776 individuals are ongoing. Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Leon Chan, director of the SPF’s operations department, praised the professionalism and dedication of officers from all enforcement agencies. He emphasized that public safety and security are a shared responsibility and stated that the police, together with partner agencies across the government, will continue coordinated and targeted enforcement actions to prevent, detect, and deter crime. He added that those who choose to engage in criminal activity will be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law.
These operations underscore the authorities' commitment to maintaining public safety and upholding the rule of law in Singapore.
Separately, the Singapore Red Cross Youth has raised over $600,000 through its annual fundraising and distribution drive, Project R.I.C.E.+. The funds will provide food and daily essentials to vulnerable communities, including low-income families, isolated seniors, persons with disabilities, and migrant workers. The project aims to distribute 42,000 bundle sets to 20,000 households, benefiting approximately 32,000 individuals. This initiative highlights the community’s dedication to supporting those in need and fostering a culture of compassion and volunteerism.
These efforts by law enforcement and community organizations reflect a comprehensive approach to ensuring public safety and social support in Singapore.
