In the latest Certificate of Entitlement (COE) bidding exercise held on July 8, 2026, the premium for Category A COEs surged to a record S$129,000, marking a 4.2% increase from the previous premium of S$123,847. This surpasses the previous record of S$128,105 set in October 2025. Category A COEs are designated for smaller, less powerful cars and electric vehicles. The premium for Category B COEs, which cover larger, more powerful cars and EVs, also saw a significant rise, climbing 6% to S$130,889 from S$123,502. Open category (Category E) COEs, applicable to any vehicle type except motorcycles, increased by 0.6% to S$129,801 from S$129,002. Commercial vehicle COEs (Category C) reached a new high of S$95,000, up 2.1% from S$93,001. Motorcycle COEs (Category D) rose to S$10,201 from S$9,989. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) noted that the elevated COE prices are partly due to the three-week interval since the last exercise and urged buyers and dealers to exercise caution in their bidding strategies. A total of 4,950 bids were received, with a quota of 3,214 COEs available.
