Pritam Singh, Secretary-General of Singapore's Workers' Party (WP) and Member of Parliament (MP) for Aljunied GRC, is set to face disciplinary proceedings initiated by the Law Society of Singapore. The hearing is scheduled for August 13, 2026, before the Court of Three Judges, the highest disciplinary body for lawyers in Singapore.

The proceedings stem from Singh's conviction in February 2025 on two counts of lying under oath to the Committee of Privileges. This conviction was related to former WP MP Raeesah Khan's false statements in Parliament regarding a sexual assault case. Singh's appeal against the conviction was dismissed by the High Court in December 2025.

As a non-practising lawyer, Singh is subject to the Legal Profession Act, which mandates the Law Society to initiate disciplinary action upon a conviction involving "fraud or dishonesty." Potential sanctions include suspension, a financial penalty of up to $100,000, or being struck off the roll of advocates and solicitors.

The Law Society is represented by Senior Counsel Cavinder Bull from Drew & Napier LLC, while Singh is represented by Peter Cuthbert Low from Peter Low Chambers LLC.

This disciplinary action follows Singh's removal from the position of Leader of the Opposition in January 2026, after Parliament deemed him unfit for the role due to his conviction.

The outcome of the upcoming hearing will determine the appropriate disciplinary measures, if any, to be imposed on Singh.
