Local charity Aidha has launched a three-year national campaign aimed at strengthening the financial resilience of migrant domestic workers in Singapore. The initiative, titled the Financial Literacy ACCESS Campaign, was unveiled on August 2, 2026, to mark the organization's 20th anniversary. The campaign seeks to expand access to financial education through new programmes and support services, including a free foundational course called MoneyStart and an in-person helpdesk for workers navigating financial challenges.

Since its founding in 2006, Aidha has focused on empowering migrant domestic workers and low-income women through training in money management, computer literacy, and entrepreneurship. The new campaign aims to scale these efforts by engaging a broader range of stakeholders, including employment agencies and employers. Aidha has already signed a memorandum of understanding with the Association of Employment Agencies to help promote financial literacy awareness across the sector.

Acting Manpower Minister Jasmin Lau, who spoke at the launch event at Rochester Park, highlighted the tangible impact of such training. Data from the charity indicates that domestic workers who complete Aidha’s programmes see their monthly savings increase by an average of 46 per cent. This financial growth allows many women to better support their families back home and plan for their own futures with greater confidence.

Beyond basic budgeting, the expanded curriculum will continue to cover essential life skills, including English language proficiency, mental wellness, and scam prevention. The organization is currently seeking to raise $1 million to support these expanded outreach efforts. As the campaign rolls out, the focus remains on equipping workers with the tools to avoid debt and achieve long-term economic independence.
