Different countries have varying spectrum rules, licensing requirements, and sovereignty concerns that could slow or limit Starlink’s expansion. Additionally, the considerable investment needed to maintain and expand the satellite constellation remains a significant financial risk.
Technical issues also warrant scrutiny. The growing number of satellites raises concerns about space debris and orbital congestion, which could threaten the safety and sustainability of all space operations.
