A tragic incident occurred on July 7, 2026, near the Confederation Bridge in New Brunswick, resulting in the deaths of three individuals. At approximately 9:11 a.m., a westbound ambulance collided head-on with an eastbound transport truck on Route 16 in Melrose, a community in Strait Shores, about 12 kilometers southwest of the bridge.
