In November 2025, nine-year-old Amaira Meena, a Class 4 student at Neerja Modi School in Jaipur, tragically died after falling from the school's fourth floor. Her parents have since alleged that sustained bullying by classmates and the school's failure to intervene led to this heartbreaking incident.
Recently, Amaira's family released new CCTV footage that they claim shows her being bullied in the classroom shortly before her death. The footage depicts Amaira entering the classroom, greeting a classmate, and participating in a dance activity. However, moments later, several students are seen showing her a digital slate repeatedly, after which her behavior reportedly changed noticeably. The family asserts that this interaction caused Amaira to become distressed and withdrawn.
The footage also shows Amaira approaching her class teacher multiple times, seemingly trying to explain what had happened. Despite her repeated attempts, the teacher allegedly dismissed her concerns, and no effective intervention followed. The family contends that the school's administration failed to address their daughter's complaints of bullying, leading to her tragic death.
In response to these allegations, the Jaipur Police have filed a chargesheet against the school's owner, principal, and class teacher under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to alleged criminal negligence. The family has called for stricter legal action against the school administration and demands accountability for the alleged failure to protect their daughter.
