The slip only reveals the city, not the exact exam centre or date, meaning candidates cannot finalise their travel or book specific accommodation. Many must wait for the admit card, which often comes only a week or two before the exam, leading to higher costs and limited availability. For candidates in large metro cities, an all-India exam can mean travelling to a different part of the city without knowing the exact venue until late. This uncertainty disproportionately affects candidates from low-income backgrounds, who may struggle with last-minute arrangements. Furthermore, past instances of last-minute city changes have raised concerns about NTA's logistical reliability. Educators and student groups have called for the release of the complete admit card earlier, or at least the exam date and venue alongside the city intimation. Without that, the slip is only a partial solution. The delay in providing full details may undermine the very purpose of early notification, leaving candidates with a false sense of preparedness.
