Court Hears Testimony on Muhyiddin Yassin's Involvement in Jana Wibawa Project

In a Kuala Lumpur High Court session on July 28, 2026, businessman Lian Tan Chuan testified that he believed former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin played a role in helping his company, Nepturis Sdn Bhd, secure a project under the Jana Wibawa programme. Lian recounted that in late 2020, he met with Datuk Azman Yusoff, who informed him that the government had approved the Jana Wibawa programme to accelerate economic recovery and assist Bumiputera contractors. Azman mentioned that companies seeking projects under this programme needed the support of Muhyiddin. Following this, Lian met with Adam Radlan, a close associate of Muhyiddin, and submitted five application letters to be forwarded to the Prime Minister's Office to obtain Muhyiddin's support and approval. Subsequently, Nepturis won the pre-qualification tender for the Klang Utara District Police Headquarters project in Selangor on January 12, 2022, with a letter of acceptance issued by the Public Works Department (JKR). Lian also testified that on January 16, 2022, he instructed his subordinate to issue a cheque of RM1 million from Nepturis, payable to the political party Bersatu, and handed it to Datuk Azman, asking him to pass it to any Bersatu leader or bank it in. The trial continues, with Muhyiddin facing charges related to abuse of power and money laundering in connection with the Jana Wibawa programme.
