In August 2026, approximately 1.5 million eligible adult Singaporeans will receive up to $850 in cash under the Goods and Services Tax Voucher (GSTV) scheme. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on lower- and middle-income households. The cash payout amount is determined by the recipient's assessable income for the Year of Assessment 2025 and the annual value of their place of residence.

Additionally, about 710,000 eligible Singaporean seniors will receive MediSave top-ups ranging from $150 to $450, depending on their age and the annual value of their residence. These top-ups will be automatically credited to their Central Provident Fund (CPF) MediSave accounts, providing additional support for healthcare expenses.

The total disbursement under the GSTV – Cash and GSTV – MediSave schemes for 2026 is approximately $1.4 billion. Eligible recipients who have previously signed up for these schemes will automatically receive their payments starting from August 7, 2026. Singaporeans who have not yet registered can do so by July 14, 2026, to receive their payments in August. To expedite the process, citizens are encouraged to link their National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) to PayNow by July 28, 2026, ensuring earlier receipt of the GSTV – Cash payout by August 7, 2026.

Notifications regarding the benefit credits will be sent via SMS to eligible recipients before and after the payments have been credited. For those without a Singpass-registered mobile number, notifications will be sent through a letter to the address on their Singapore Identity Card. To safeguard against scams, the SMS notifications from "" will only inform citizens of their benefit(s) and will not request replies, clicks on links, or personal information. Government officials will never ask for money transfers or bank login details over the phone. For any uncertainties regarding potential scams, citizens are advised to contact the 24/7 ScamShield Helpline at 1799.

This initiative underscores the government's commitment to supporting Singaporeans in managing the cost of living and healthcare expenses, particularly for lower- to middle-income households and seniors.
