About 1.5 million eligible adult Singaporeans will receive cash payouts of up to S$850 in August 2026 as part of the permanent Goods and Services Tax Voucher (GSTV) scheme. The Ministry of Finance announced that these disbursements aim to help lower- and middle-income households defray daily expenses and GST costs. Alongside the cash payouts, approximately 710,000 eligible seniors will receive MediSave top-ups ranging from S$150 to S$450, which will be automatically credited to their CPF MediSave accounts.
The total disbursement for these two components of the GSTV scheme amounts to approximately S$1.4 billion for the year. Eligibility for the cash payout is determined by a recipient's assessable income for the 2025 Year of Assessment and the annual value of their place of residence. To qualify, individuals must be aged 21 or older, have an assessable income not exceeding S$39,000, and own no more than one property.
Payments are scheduled to begin on August 7, 2026, for those who have previously signed up for the scheme. Citizens who have not yet registered may do so by July 14 to receive their benefits in August. The government encourages recipients to link their NRIC to PayNow by July 28 to facilitate earlier receipt of the cash payout. Notifications regarding the credits will be sent via SMS or by letter for those without a registered mobile number.
